I sit with clients and learn how their day actually works. The mundane details often reveal the real process. Before bringing in an agent, I need to understand the system myself.

I write the brief, map acceptance criteria, and work through the edge cases and failure paths. An agent is my rubber duck: a way to question assumptions and sharpen the plan, not outsource the understanding.

I work closely with an orchestrator that acts as my team lead. It plans and distributes work to junior and senior worker agents, with an adviser alongside the process. I stay close to the implementation, spot-check the code and step in for precise edits when needed.

I read and review the code with the team and a separate review agent. Together, we work through end-to-end checks in the browser or simulator. Automation agents handle programmatic tests and automation, including unit tests chosen to suit the work. Years of hands-on software engineering inform my judgement.

This is the reflection I would normally do at the end of a project: what worked, what went wrong and what I would change. Now it’s automated throughout the work and at each session review. Decisions, problems and useful lessons carry forward, so I can learn at every turn rather than wait until the project is over.
